Information Security (“IS”) Awareness Exhibition and Week (7-11 Nov 2016)

To raise the awareness of University staff and students on information security, ITS, in collaboration with the University’s Data Protection Officer and the Office of Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) of HKSAR Government, will organize a series of events during the “Information Security Awareness Week 2016/17” to be held on November 7-11, 2016.

During the week, seminars, quiz and exhibition will be organized to highlight and promote the importance of information security and protection of personal data.  Participants obtaining full marks in the quiz will be awarded a souvenir on a first-come-first-served basis.  In conjunction with the quiz, there will be booth game to test participants’ knowledge in different areas of information security.  Besides, two briefing sessions on personal data protection will be conducted by an external consultant, HKU Data Protection Officer and ITS staff. The sessions are open to both HKU staff and students.

Personal Data Protection Workshops
Speaker: Miss Jennifer Ho, Partner, Risk Assurance, PricewaterhouseCoopers 
 
The speaker will give an overview on
(i) the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance;
(ii) the six Data Protection Principles;
(iii) systems and security practices in the University; and
(iv) security measures.
