To use the central IT services, staff and students will be provided with a unique HKU Portal UID (User Identification) and an associated PIN (Personal Identification Number) for authentication.
Most of the commonly used central IT services and applications offered by University departments are readily available for access through the single sign-on platform, HKU Portal using HKU Portal UID and PIN. These include Student Information System (SIS), Human Capital Management System (HCMS) (for staff), email, learning management system, library resources, etc.
There are other kinds of services that require special accounts to access, for example, High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities and some information under Manager Self-Service of HKU Portal which requires proxy rights to access.
Account Management Services help to grant and reset access to HKU Portal and other central services administered by ITS. The common requests include new account application, change Portal UID/email alias, PIN reset, check account status, etc.
