Overview

Below lists the common areas related to the support of accounts administered by ITS- 

Account arrangement for leaving staff/students

The account records of ITS will be automatically updated based on the staff/student records provided by the Registry.  For example, when a student is graduating or a staff member is leaving the University.

Staff:

For leaving staff, access to their personal and other University information under HKU Portal will be available until their last day of appointment.  They will, however, be able to use their existing @hku.hk email account for a period of 100 days after the last day with the University. For other network and/or host accounts, they will also be open for a period of 100 days after the last employment day.

For staff who are offered a re-appointment before the account end date, the account will be automatically extended to the new appointment end date.

Students:

Students will receive a message from ITS notifying them their actual account expiry date before they leave/graduate from the University.

Extension of HKU Email Service

For staff and students who wish to extend the use of their HKU email service, please complete and return CF-150 “Request for Extension of HKU Email Service” available here.  Extension will normally be granted for 7 days if approved. For longer period of extension, this application has to be endorsed by Head of Department. 

Request for Additional Computing Resources

Some IT facilities are available for staff and students to apply in case they need additional computing resources.  Please check out here for the available facilities.
