Maintenance Notice

2013/07/07 22:00 (Sunday) - 2013/07/07 23:59 (Sunday) - Human Capital Management System (HCMS) Maintenance Window

To: All Staff Members

Please note that there will be a scheduled maintenance on the Human Capital Management System (HCMS) during the following period:

Date: July 7, 2013 (Sunday)
Time: 10:00pm – 11:59pm

During the above period, all functions of the HCMS under Self Service (e.g. Leave Application, Pay-slip), Manager Self Service (e.g. Leave Approval, e-PFile) and for administrative roles (e.g. FCSC, Recruiting and Workforce Administration) in the HKU Portal will be suspended. These functions will be resumed once the maintenance work is completed. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

2013/07/01 07:00 (Monday) - 2013/07/01 13:00 (Monday) - Maintenance of the HKU Central Email Service for Staff (HKUCC1)

Information Technology Services (ITS) will carry out a scheduled maintenance for the HKU Central Email Service for Staff (HKUCC1) as follows:

Date: July 1, 2013 (Monday)
Time: 7:00 am to 1:00 pm

During the above maintenance period, access to HKUCC1 email services, including via the My Email tab of HKU Portal, will be suspended. Colleagues are advised not to access their HKUCC1 email accounts during the period.

2013/06/29 23:00 (Saturday) - 2013/06/30 06:00 (Sunday) - Service interruption of HKU IP Phone system (phone numbers 3917-xxxx)

Maintenance on the HKU IP Phone system is scheduled in the following period. Users with telephone numbers “3917-xxxx” will be affected.

Date & time: June 29, 2013 (Saturday) 11pm - June, 30 2013 (Sunday) 6am

During the maintenance period, the phone service of 3917-xxxx will be interrupted intermittently for several times, each about 5 minutes. New incoming and outgoing calls will be interrupted while ongoing calls will not be affected.

Should you encounter any telephone problem after the maintenance schedule, please report to our Computer Room at 2859-2496 during non-office hours. For support during office hours, please contact ithelp@hku.hk or 2859-2480.

2013/06/23 09:00 (Sunday) - 2013/06/23 18:00 (Sunday) - Suspension of Web Conferencing Service Adobe Connect

This message is for users who registered for using the web conferencing service offered by ITS (available at http://webconf.hku.hk).

ITS will upgrade the existing Adobe Connect from version 7.0 to 9.0 on June 23, 2013 (Sunday). To facilitate the upgrade, the web conferencing service will be suspended as follows:

Date: June 23, 2013 (Sunday)
Time: 9:00am to 6:00pm

After the upgrade on June 23, 2013, a new URL will be used. To access the meeting hosts administration page, please use the URL http://webconf.hku.hk. For meetings, please broadcast the meeting in the format of URL http://webconf.hku.hk/<meeting URL>. (The webpage will be redirected to a HTTPS secure page automatically.)

As all user accounts and meeting recordings will be migrated to the new version, there is no change to you except a new URL.

The user interface of Adobe Connect 9.0 is similar to 7.0. Please continue using the SAME username and password to access the web conferencing system.

The new Adobe Connect 9.0 supports a list of advance features including

- Support access from mobile devices using the Adobe Connect Mobile apps
- Increase in event capacity
- Pause and resume recordings during live sessions
- Automatic browser plug-in installation

Please note that there will be a scheduled upgrade maintenance on www.hkusu.hku.hk will be suspended during the following time period:

Date : June 12, 2013 (Wednesday)

Time : 09:00 - 13:00

Affected services: all student societies websites

During the above period, access to all student societies websites will be suspended. For enquiry about the maintenance, please contact ithelp@hku.hk or our helpdesk (Tel: 2859 2480) during office hours and our computer room (Tel: 2859 2496) after office hours.

Please be informed that the Research & Conference Grants Administration System (RCGAS) will be suspended during the following time period:-

Time : 08:00 - 16:30
