The following maintenance will be carried out on Nov 7 - 8, 2015 (this Saturday and Sunday) and among them, the major services to be affected include:

- In-house staff and non-JUPAS applications under HKU Portal: Saturday 5 pm - 8 pm
- uPrint service: Sunday 8 am - 11 am
- Network services in Cyberport 4: Sunday 1 pm - 6 pm

2015/09/19 22:00 (Saturday) - 2015/09/20 02:00 (Sunday) - Maintenance of Turnitin system

Turnitin is an originality checking tool on student works for proper citation or potential plagiarism running on remote servers supported by Turnitin Company.

There will be a planned maintenance of the Turnitin system in the following period during which all access to Turnitin by teachers and students from the central Moodle system will be suspended:

Date and Time: 19 September, 2015 (Saturday) 10pm to 20 September, 2015 (Sunday) 2am (HK Time)

Teachers are encouraged to modify assignment due dates at least several hours either before or after the scheduled maintenance window. Otherwise students would not be able to submit the assignment successfully during the maintenance period. For any enquiries, please send email to eLearningTeam@hku.hk.

2015/09/19 13:00 (Saturday) - 2015/09/19 18:00 (Saturday) - Urgent UPS Maintenance on Centennial Campus

Dear colleagues and students

Please note that the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system maintenance will be carried out on September 19, 2015 (this Saturday) between 13:00- 18:00 in the server room in Centennial Campus, it is envisaged there will be no IT services being affected. During this period, the IT equipment running in the server room will be operating under normal city power supply and without protection for sudden power surge. In the worst event of a power surge during the maintenance period, the network service at the Centennial Campus may experience short instability.

To prepare for the upcoming pay adjustment for eligible staff, all functions supported by the Human Capital Management System (HCMS) under Manager Self Service (e.g. Staff Appointments, FCF) and the administrative roles (e.g. FCSC, Recruiting and Workforce Administration) available under HKU Portal will be temporarily unavailable during the following period for carrying out the necessary system work-
