ITS Maintenance on Feb 3-4, 2018

ITS Maintenance Window

The following maintenance work will be carried out on Feb 3-4, 2018 (this Saturday and Sunday) and the major services to be affected include:

  1. Microsoft SharePoint Workspace service: Sunday midnight - 9:00 am; and
  2. 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) service affecting HKU Virtual Private Network (HKUVPN) and staff access to HKU Portal applications that require 2FA to login outside campus network: Sun 10:00 am - noon.

The details of all maintenance works are shown below:

1:00 pm - 6:00 am Server supporting spam filtering service for staff email accounts for firmware update Staff will not be able to check the spam quarantine email folder.
Feb 4, 2018
(Sun)
Midnight - 9:00 am Server supporting Microsoft SharePoint Workspace service for OS patch update Access to departmental SharePoint Workspace service will be suspended.
8:00 am - 9:00 am ITS website (www.its.hku.hk) for OS patch update ITS website will be temporarily inaccessible for less than 15 minutes during the update.

 

10:00 am - noon 2FA server for firmware upgrade There will be two 10-minute interruptions on the 2FA server and services requiring 2FA to login will be affected. These include HKUVPN and some HKU Portal applications for staff (SIS, Manager Self Service, Personal & Family Data Form and Personnel File, annual tax return and pay slip) if they are accessed outside campus network.
