How to set filtering rule to move the bulk mails to a designated email folder (instead of Inbox)?

For Staff

  1. If you want to create a filter for bulkmail, please fill in “cc:mail.service@intranet.hku.hk” in the search field and press enter.
     
  2. Select one of the bulk mail and right click to choose “Create rule...”.

  3. Assign the name for the new rule and click “More options

  4.  Select “It includes these words” => “in the message header”.

  5. Enter cc:mail.service@intranet.hku.hk.

  6. Select “Move, copy or delete” => “Move the message to folder” and choose the folder from the folder list.

  7. Click “Save”.

For Student

  1. If you want to create a filter for bulkmail, please fill in “cc:mail.service@intranet.hku.hk” in the search field and press enter.
     
  2. You will see the related mails are filtered, click the downward button as below.

  3. Click “Create filter with this search”.

  4. Check “Apply the label” and “Also apply filter to XX matching conversations” if you want.
     
  5. Click Choose label, and you can choose a existing label or new label.

  6. If you clicked “New Label” give a new label name.

  7. Click “Create filter” button to creat the filter
     
  8. Then, you can have a folder like label at the left panel to access the “cc:mail.service@intranet.hku.hk” mail easily.

  9. You can always reivew/edit/remove filter rules via Gear button -> Settings -> Filters.
