To provide staff and students with a better understanding of what technologies are available for supporting Teaching and Learning (T&L), ITS organized a half-day seminar on October 15, 2014 and a two-day T&L Showcase Exhibition on October 14-15, 2014.

It is worth highlighting the experience sharing sessions given by the two teachers were well received by the audience. Dr Feng Yibin demonstrated how Moodle could effectively enhance teaching and learning of Chinese herbal medicine and collect feedback from students whereas Dr Winnie Leung shared her experience of using the lecture capture service in the delivery of lectures in accounting. Mr Bertrand Lee of Panopto APAC Ltd. introduced a number of new features of Panopto and the use of Panopto to support flipped classroom teaching and blended learning.
Two exhibition booths were set up, one next to the Main Library in the Main Campus and the other outside the Chi Wah Learning Commons in the Centennial Campus. The following technologies and services were demonstrated during the exhibition period:
- Mobile access to learning management system Moodle and lecture capture recordings using phones or laptops;
- Live demonstration of lecture capture service (LCS) - using Panopto software on a laptop for recording;
- High definition video conferencing system linking the two booths to showcase presentation or lecture in high quality video, and joining of conferences using phones and laptops; and
- One-stop eLearning hub for accessing Moodle courses and T&L services information
