Below lists the common areas related to the support of accounts administered by ITS- 

Account arrangement for leaving staff/students

The account records of ITS will be automatically updated based on the staff/student records provided by the Registry.  For example, when a student is graduating or a staff member is leaving the University.


Departed staff will be able to use their email account for a period of 30 days after their employment contract end date.  Please click here for the IT services available for use during the grace period by departed staff.

For staff who are offered a re-appointment before the account end date, the account will be automatically extended to the new appointment end date.


Students will receive a message from ITS notifying them their actual account expiry date before they leave or graduate from the University.

Extension of HKU Email Service

For staff and students who wish to extend the use of their HKU email service, please complete CF150 “Extension of HKU Email Service”.  Extension will normally be granted for 7 days if approved. For longer period of extension, this application has to be endorsed by Head of Department. 

Request for Additional Computing Resources

Some IT facilities are available for staff and students to apply in case they need additional computing resources.  Please check out here for the available facilities.
