IT plays a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning activities of the University. We manage the virtual and physical learning spaces and strive to develop an inspiring, vibrant and technology-rich teaching and learning environment for teachers and students.
e-Learning and Learning Environment are two focal areas that we are supporting in teaching and learning.
For e-Learning, we support Moodle Learning Management System which tightly integrates with the Student Information System to feed in up-to-date course information. This feature-rich e-learning platform supports Forum, Assignments, Choice for tutorial selection, etc. and is enhanced with Turnitin plugin for plagiarism checking and GradeMark.
Lecture Capture Services (LCS) is using Panopto Lecture Capture System to record lectures and events for subsequent viewing by students. Panopto system integrates with Moodle through which recorded lectures can be uploaded and associated with the Moodle course automatically.
Learning Environment designs and manages
- physical learning spaces including the central classrooms and lecture theatres equipped with audio visual equipment and IT facilities; and
- learning commons for student-centred learning activities.
