The following maintenance work will be carried out on Jan 11 to 12, 2020 (this Saturday and Sunday) and the major services to be affected include:
1. 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) affecting HKUVPN and staff access to some HKU Portal services outside campus network: Sat 7:00 am to 9:00 am
2. Moodle and Panopto: Sat 9:30 pm to Sun midnight
3. Campus network services: Sun 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
4. Access to HKU Portal and in-house developed applications under it: Sun 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Details of the maintenance work are tabulated below and please do not access these services during the affected periods:

Jan 11, 2020 (Sat) 7:00 am to 9:00 am 2FA server for firmware upgrade The 2FA service will be affected by two 10 minute interruptions when access to HKUVPN (HKU Virtual Private Network) and some HKU Portal applications for staff (SIS, Manager Self Service, Personal & Family Data Form and Personnel File, annual tax return and pay slip) that require 2FA to login will be inaccessible.
3:00 pm to 6:00 pm High definition video conferencing servers for OS patching High definition multi-party conferencing service will be suspended.
3:00 pm to 11:00 pm Convene Meeting System for system patching Convene Meeting System will be suspended.
9:30 pm to midnight Servers supporting Moodle and Panopto for OS patch update Access to Moodle (including My eLearning tab of HKU Portal), archived Moodle courses, Panopto and Tutorial Sign-up app will be suspended.
Jan 12, 2020 (Sun) 7:00 am to 8:00 am Web Application Firewall (WAF) for bug fixing Departmental web servers protected by the WAF will experience a few minutes of service suspension.
8:00 am to 4:00 pm Data centre switch for upgrade There will be a few interruptions to the campus network services.
8:00 am to 5:00 pm Adobe Connect server for upgrade Adobe Connect web conferencing service will be suspended.
5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Central servers for OS patching Access to HKU Portal, in-house developed applications under HKU Portal and some HKU mobile apps (such as HKU uPrint, HKU uPay and Attendance@HKU) will experience 1 to 2 two interruptions of not more than 30 minutes.
7:00 pm to 11:00 pm Attendance@HKU for upgrade Attendance@HKU (attendee mobile app and related administrator page) will be temporarily unavailable.
