Please be informed that the Research & Conference Grants Administration System (RCGAS) will be suspended during the following time period:-

Date : 26 May 2013 (Sunday)
Time : 08:00 - 16:30

Users are advised not to access the system during the maintenance period. In case you cannot access the system after the maintenance, please contact our Computer Room Operator on the same day (Sunday) (phone: 2859 2496) or our Helpdesk (phone: 2859 2480; email: ithelp@hku.hk) during office hours.

2013/04/03 14:45 (Wednesday) - 2013/04/03 15:35 (Wednesday) - Interruption of HKU Campus Network and Internet Services

We are sorry to inform you that there was a sudden power surge in our Computer Room and the core services, including the Campus Network and Internet services were temporarily suspended for 50 minutes.

Affected services: All HKU Campus Network services and Internet related services

Suspension period: 14:45 to 15:35 today (April 3, 2013)

The above affected services have been resumed at 15:35 today. We are now working with network vendor and UPS supplier to identify the root cause to the problem to prevent the same from happening again.

There will be a scheduled maintenance on several web sites to be carried out on:

2013/03/24 00:00 (Sunday) - 2013/03/24 02:00 (Sunday) - Maintenance of the Centennial Campus, Main Campus, and Lung Wah Street Student Residence IP Telephone system

There will be a scheduled maintenance on the Centennial Campus, Main Campus and Lung Wah Street Student Residence IP Telephone system (extensions with phone numbers 3917 xxxx) to be carried out on:

Date: 24 March 2013 (Sunday)
Time: 00:00 to 02:00

Users with telephone numbers 3917 xxxx will be affected. During the maintenance period, phone service will be interrupted intermittently for several times, each about 1 minute. New incoming and outgoing calls will be interrupted, however, ongoing calls will not be affected.

Should you encounter any telephone problem after the maintenance schedule, please report to our Computer Room at 2859 2496 during non-office hours. For support during office hours, please contact ithelp@hku.hk or 2859 2480.

Please note that there will be a scheduled maintenance of the database system supporting HKU Portal web applications during the following period:

Affected services:

+ Links under My eLearning and MyDepartment/MyFaculty tabs of HKU Portal, and
+ Certain HKU Portal web applications accessible from HKU Portal or directly through hyperlinks.

Note that Moodle, SIS and HCM systems are not affected.

During the above period, the affected services will be suspended.

The Moodle system will be accessible during the period by clicking the My eLearning tab of HKU Portal.
