Zoom is a video conferencing tool for online meetings, teaching and learning activities. Each licensed user may host one meeting at a time. The maximum number of participants of a meeting is 300.
Eligibility
A campus license is arranged for staff and students holding an active HKU Portal account to use the Zoom service. They can get a Zoom educational license for meeting hosting through the following steps:
- Go to the website: https://hku.zoom.us.
- Click the “Login” button and login with HKU Portal UID and PIN. A license will be automatically assigned upon successful login.
Webinar License
Departments can order the Zoom webinar license in the capacity of 500 or 1,000 participants from ITS. Orders can be submitted via CF36 where you can find the price information there.
Webinars are ideal for large audiences or events. It is designed for the host and any designated panelists to share their video, audio and screen. Webinars allow view-only attendees and they can interact via Q&A, chat, and answering polling questions. Participants in webinar typically do not interact with one another.
