Secret Santa Gift for Every HKUers on Boxing Day – A Brand New eNotices System

To celebrate the happiest festival and wish every HKUers a Merry Christmas, ITS has redesigned the user interfaces and re-engineered the functionalities of the eNotices System, the widely used communication channel in HKU, and substantially enhanced the system with the following new features:

1. Redesign the look and feel of the eNotices system – have a new look in “HKU Daily Notices” through the email digest and “Notices for Staff/ Students” in HKU Portal
2. Categorize the notices – group notices by readers’ interest
3. Simplify eNotice types – reduce to Important Notice and General Notice only (Important Notice is available to SMT while General Notice is available for all departments.)
4. Allow users to add thumbnails to the messages – improve the visualization and attract eye-balls
5. Offer Departmental Dashboard – provide an overview of the notice statistics for the departments including the read counts and highlights ratio
6. Broadcast via Omni-Channels – also distribute eNotices through Communal PCs (Screen Saver & Wallpaper), U-Vision TVs and Digital Signages in Libraries
7. Implement a “Today’s Highlights” feature – important notices & hot topics are spotlighted
8. Integrate “Today’s Bulkmails” to eNotices as one of the categories – read today’s bulk mails in the eNotices system for Staff/Students. Users can search recent bulk mails in HKU Portal and the new HKU mobile app (to be launched by the end of 2022)

The new eNotices system will be launched on Boxing Day, 26 December 2022.  Faculties and Departments can start to send stunning eNotices with the new system and share their announcements and greetings with the HKU community.  On the other hand, eNotices readers can enjoy checking the eNotices with an attractive user interface.
