HKU Event Management System (HKUEMS): New Enhancements for Registrants and Event Managers

Information Technology Services (ITS) has completed the rollout of a series of enhancements to the HKU Event Management System (HKUEMS). These enhancements are designed to provide a better user experience for both event managers and registrants, especially when accessing the system on mobile devices and managing event communications.

Key Enhancements

  1. Modernized and mobile friendly layout of event webpages for registrants

Event webpages have been updated with a modern, responsive design to improve the registration experience across desktop and mobile devices. The enhancements apply to the Event Details page, Registration Form, and Post‑registration page.

These changes enhance the clarity and presentation of event information for registrants, providing a more consistent display across different devices.

  1. Enhanced “Email to registrants” features

New features have been introduced to improve event related communications:

    • Calendar invite attachment: Event managers can include a calendar invite (.ics file) when sending emails to registrants, allowing them to add the event directly to their calendars.
    • Editable hyperlinks: Hyperlinks in email content can now be customized with user-defined display text for clearer and more professional communication.

ITS remains committed to continuously enhancing the HKU Event Management System to better support University events.
