ITS carries out regular maintenance of the University’s central IT environment generally in the first weekend of each month, from Saturday 1:00 pm to Sunday 11:00 pm. The monthly maintenance windows in 2026 are scheduled as follows:
On top of the above maintenance windows, 4 additional timeslots are scheduled in the following weekends (from Saturday 1:00 pm to Sunday 11:00 pm) in 2026 for coping with the increasing number of systems in operation:
During these periods, certain central IT services/systems could be closed or intermittently unavailable. We will announce the specific services/systems affected prior to each maintenance window via e-Notice and the website – Maintenance Notices. Departments are advised to avoid having critical events/activities that would rely heavily on the availability of central IT services during the maintenance windows.
For urgent situations, ITS may be required to carry out system maintenance/repair works outside the regular schedules. We will notify the users concerned via the appropriate communication channels under such circumstances.
