Following the successful pilot launch of Facial Identity Access earlier this year, we are pleased to announce the expansion of additional facial identity access panels across campus facilities, together with a new registration method via the HKU App.
Facial Identity Access provides a convenient, contactless, and secure option for students and staff to enter University premises, complementing existing access methods such as staff/student ID cards and QR codes generated via the HKU App.
Newly Added Access Locations
With effect from 11 May 2026, additional Facial Identity Access panels have been installed at the following locations:
- Main Library
- G/F

- 2/F

- Yu Chun Keung Medical Library (New)

Please present your valid staff or student ID card and follow the on‑screen instructions to capture your facial image. Registration will become effective within 10 minutes.
