We have some exciting news to share with you: we have upgraded to a new OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) solution called “Remark Office” that will replace the outdated Opscan3, which is no longer maintained or supported by the vendor. Remark Office is a software-based solution that enables us to scan and score multiple-choice tests, surveys, and forms using any scanner or multifunction printer. Remark Office works with Windows 10 and has many benefits over Opscan3, such as:
- Improved accuracy and reliability of scanning and grading
- Ability to customize the layout and design of the documents
- Ability to export the results to various formats, such as Excel, PDF, or online platforms
- Ability to generate various reports and statistics, such as item analysis, class summary, or student feedback
Avoid bringing the answer sheets to CWLC to scan using the Opscan 3 OMR scanner. We have installed the Remark Office OMR software on a laptop and users only need to borrow the laptop from ITS to perform the task. Users should scan the answer sheets via their department copiers/scanners, then use the scanned soft copy and import to the Remark Office to progress the marking and analysis.
The reservation of Remark Office is the same as former Opscan3 OMR scanner, please go to HKU Booking System at https://hkufbs.hku.hk to reserve the timeslot and get the device at Rm204, K.K. Leung Building, Main Campus. You can make the reservation up to 14 days in advance. No same-day reservation is allowed.
