Amazon Web Services (AWS) Educate is Amazon’s global initiative that provides an online education platform to accelerate cloud-learning and to prepare for the cloud-enabled jobs of tomorrow. Through AWS Educate, students and educators have access to free content and programs, and free promotional credits to be used in teaching and learning.

HKU has enrolled in the AWS Educate Program since 2018.  All staff and students who have not yet enrolled in this Program can do so by following the procedures below to register for an account to use the AWS cloud services:

AWS Educate Classroom

Educators can request an AWS Educate Classroom for teaching purpose.   AWS Educate Classroom is a no-cost virtual classroom where educators can monitor students as they work hands-on in the cloud without having to deal with any billing or technical management.  Students do not need a credit card to participate, and educators can monitor students’ activity and help when needed.

Through this Classroom, educators can also grant additional AWS credits for use by their students on a need basis.
