To further enhance access to advanced AI capabilities at HKU, ITS is pleased to announce the release of GPT-5.5 and GPT Image 2 across the HKU ChatGPT web app (https://chatgpt.hku.hk), the HKU DALL·E web app (https://dalle.hku.hk), and the APIs in the HKU ITS Developer Portal (https://developer.hku.hk).

These updates are effective 28 April 2026.

  • HKU ChatGPT: Students and staff can now utilize the improved reasoning and performance of GPT-5.5 for text-based tasks.
  • HKU DALL·E: Users can now leverage GPT Image 2 for higher image quality and greater creative flexibility in image generation.
  • HKU ITS Developer Portal: The new models are available via API for students and staff to integrate into their projects and research, supporting ongoing learning and development initiatives.
