ITS supports the central telephone service of the University with University-wide Teams Voice Adoption. Apart from the provision of a fixed line phone-set, the standard phone provisioning is based on Teams App, meaning that users make or receive phone calls through computer or mobile device with Microsoft Teams App.
ITS also supports the University central operator service through 2859 2111 .

No charge for softphone running deployed with Microsoft Teams App will be incurred on the centrally funded departments if the Teams Voice license is within the entitlement. Although the use of physical phone set is not necessary, there are scenarios that a physical phone may be required. Charge will be applied for requesting desk phones and all cable laying work beyond entitlement. Please refer to this appendix page.
Self-funded departments or HKU subsidiaries will be charged at full cost of the phone service provided, including phone sets, licenses, telephone lines rental, and system maintenance cost.
