Add a Peer Assessment Activity

  1. Go to the course concerned and click “Turn editing on” on the top right corner to enable the editing mode.
  2. Select “Add an activity or resource” where you want to create the Peer Assessment activity.

  3. Select “Peer Assessment“ as the activity type.

Edit peer assessment settings

  1. Set the submission dates and time, as well as the due dates and time.
  2. Depends on whether the nature of the assessment, you may wish to set the maximum number of uploaded files.
  3. Students can be allowed to self-evaluate by enabling the self-grade setting. If enabled, a student’s self-grade will be counted towards their, and their overall groups’ peer grade averages.

  4. Assessment criteria settings further allow us to set reveal or hide “grades from peers” and “comments/justifications”.
  5. Under each criterion, add your brief description and select the grading scale, such as below:

Assess by peers and feedback by tutor

  1. Students can then rate/assess one another.
  2. After peer assessment, the course teacher then give a grade for the group and can provide feedback accordingly.

  3. When everything is ready, the teacher “releases” all the grades to students.
