For connecting to the Campus Network via a fixed network point over the Local Area Network (LAN), you are recommended to use a Cat. 6 or above LAN cable and turn off WiFi when your computer is connected to LAN.

For first-time users, please follow the steps below (to be done once only):

1. Register your network card address under HKU Portal (Other names for network card address are ethernet card address, physical address and MAC address (media access control address.)
2. Configure your computer to obtain an IP address dynamically (via DHCP)
