Eudora had been a popular email program supporting POP3/IMAP mail protocols about a decade ago. The final release of its commercial version was announced in 2006 and since then, the product development has been stopped. Eudora is an end of support product for which fixes and technical support on software bugs and security vulnerabilities identified are not available.
A commonly known issue encountered by the very few Eudora users nowadays is Eudora’s inability to trust the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates signed by public Certificate Authority due to the outdated built-in trust store. Eudora users have to manually install the certificates in order to work with their emails without problems.
Due to the shrinking user population and end-of-support of Eudora, ITS has discontinued supporting Eudora in using the central email service in 2015 already. Eudora users are advised to switch using other email clients like MS Outlook to send/receive emails.
