How to turn off “Focused Inbox” in Outlook (Exchange Online – New Outlook, OWA and Outlook 2021)

Focused Inbox separates your inbox into two tabs—Focused and Other. Your most important email messages are on the Focused tab while the rest remain easily accessible—but out of the way—on the Other tab. This guide is to show how to turn off “Focused Inbox” in different versions of Outlook.

A. New Outlook

  1. To determine if Outlook is in Focused Inbox view, it can be identified as below highlighted in Red “Focused”.

  2. To turn off “Focused Inbox”, press “View”, and then press “View settings”.

  3. Inside settings, press “Mail” > “Layout”, choose “don’t sort my messages”, and press “Save”.

B. Outlook 2021

  1. Click on Deleted Items folder on the left folder panel and then press Recover items recently removed from this folder Click on Deleted Items folder on the left folder panel and then press Recover items recently removed from this folder
  2. or choose Folder at the top of Outlook, and then press “Recover Deleted Items”

  3. Choose the email you want to recover, click Restore Selected Items, press OK. The email will be restored to original location.
