Leaving Arrangement

The account records of ITS will be automatically updated based on the staff/student records provided by the Registry and Human Resource Office. For example, when a student is graduated or a staff member left the University.


Departed staff will be able to use their @hku.hk email account for a period of 30 days after their employment contract end date. Please click here for the IT services available for use during the grace period by departed staff.

For staff who are offered a re-appointment before the account end date, the account will be automatically extended to the new appointment end date.


Students will receive a message from ITS notifying them their actual account expiry date before they leave or graduate from the University.

For students continuing their studies for another degree/curriculum at the University, their HKU Portal accounts will be re-activated after the Registry updates their record.
